It is the season of love guys, and for real I have mixed feelings about it. Don’t ask me why, because I don’t even know why.

The thought that a whole day is dedicated for the purpose of showing love amuses me, but in actuality, love is meant to be shown every single day. Let us shun the romantic aspect of love, go biblical for a minute and focus on the agape and platonic kind of love. God is love, Love is God. And because He loves us as His own, we ought to show love to every single person we come across.

Now back to the main matter, I’ve been researching all week and I stumbled on so many scary valentine looks. Lol!!! Let’s be honest with ourselves, you don’t have to break the bank or be all “red-y” before you turn heads, or before you have that “valentine theme”. Check your closet properly first, you definitely have that outfit in it.

A touch of red won’t hurt; you cannot even go wrong with it. It could be a red scarf or beret, a red purse, red shoes, or red accessories…it could even be the littlest thing as your nails. If, and I mean IF you can mix your colors appropriately, then you can go on with your all-red ensemble.

Don’t forget to grab a chilled drink while I take you through this journey!!

HEY GUYS! How are y’all doing today?

A couple of days ago, I dropped a post on Vintage Fashion, if you haven’t checked it out, kindly do so today.

Meanwhile, it’s a New Year and I am pretty sure a lot of us have been up and about with our “new year, new me thingy”… *scrap that*, in other words, New Year resolution. 2018 was definitely a good year; I started my National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), learnt a trade, met new people, I even got a chance to style a celebrity, I got a new phone, a new laptop, and I did these things with my own money, isn’t God so good? Above all, 2018 paved the way for 2019 to begin. Take it or leave it, we are all aging year after year, and it would be a big setback if we sit our asses down in laziness and settle for mediocrity. Yes, you have goals, but what steps have you taken towards achieving them?

I would be sharing a few tips that will come in handy in our 2019 journey. So grab a chair, grab a drink, relax and be my guest.

A plan or goal that is not documented was never a goal in the first place. Don’t just speak it till you make it, get a jotter or a planner, write them down, and plan on working towards them.

Yes, you have written those goals, but what are you doing towards getting a favorable result? What are you doing for the purpose of making your year memorable and your goals achievable? If you ask me, I would say I’ve been sending tons of mails to brands for collaborations as a blogger, and I’ve been getting positive responses. I mean, 2019 has got to be ‘THE’ year. You want to start a business, why not start it already? You want to launch podcast? Just do it. Don’t be caught doing nothing in this New Year. Remember, time waits for no one.

In other news, yearn for knowledge. Learning is definitely a continuous process. We learn every single day; both formally and otherwise. Be open to new ideas, read books that would motivate you, and learn from them. Remember, no man is an island.

Normally, I’m supposed to write about this two separately, but I’m dropping just five tips because I don’t want to bore y’all.

Believe it or not, if you do not leave your comfort zone, you may not grow and your mentality will be the same. Learn to make friends in social gatherings; network, meet great people, tell them about what you do, and exchange contacts. Social media is also a good platform to network; twitter and instagram most especially. Don’t just have a mobile device, use it to your benefit and advantage.

Creatives are amazing people. They see beauty in every single thing, they also possess an unbeatable energy, and they crave to create more. If you will do anything this year, please be creative about it, do NOT be a boring person, no one likes a boring person. Instead, be energetic, be productive and be creative.

In addition to this, stay hydrated all year: drink plenty of water and mind your business.

Have a productive 2019!

Which of the tips above will you put to use? Have you set goals for the year? What is your 2019 mantra? Let’s talk about them!

Holla guys!!! Happy 2019.

It’s a wonderful year, and the last “teen year” we would be having. Isn’t that just amaze balls? Well, well, well, this year, I am going to be giving y’all lots and lots of juicy stuff. I mean, consistency has got to be the code for the year.

Today, we are going to be talking about our Vintage and Retrospective Clothing. Yes, I’m a proud lover of vintage (flips hair)!! Now let’s get down to the real thing.

Generally speaking, clothing which was produced before the 1920s is referred to as antique clothing and clothing from the 1920s to twenty years before the present day is considered vintage. In other news, clothing from the 1920s to the early 2000s is considered vintage. There are lots of vintage items out here that we can easily get a hold of ranging from clothing, to toys, to accessories, vehicles, to mention just a few. Sun shades are definitely not left out when it comes to vintage items. However, our utmost concern here is the Vintage clothing.

Vintage used to be perceived as being old-fashioned and boring or monotonous as a result of the fact that they are items and clothing from the past. But in recent times, a good number of people have come to embrace the fact that vintage is such a good vibe on its own that honestly shouldn’t be left hanging. It is androgynous, enduring and can be styled in various ways. In actual fact, a little piece of vintage outfit can stand out on its own in any gathering. A good and legit vintage outfit will pass the test of time and will not wash off after about one year. No! Never!!

Vintage is artsy; it is inclined towards the art, which explains why we see various artistic and breathtaking designs on our shirts, gowns, stockings and what have you. With vintage, it is always about colors and designs.

Today, vintage dressing encompasses clothing accessories, mixing garments with new, as well as creating an ensemble of various styles and periods. Vintage clothing is used as a muse for new designs and is also known to be retrospective clothing (retro-clothing).

…to be continued in the next post.

What vintage item do you possess? And which would you like to have in your possession??

Hi guys! It’s been ages. Sorry I zoned out, had to take a break mainly because of some unforeseen circumstances. But guess what? I am back and better now lovelies (victory dance)!!

Lol…. I just got to know on wiki that “palazzo” is an Italian word, borrowed from Latin ‘Palatium’ (palace, large residence), which in actual sense means a large, palatial urban building as at that time in Italy. Funny, isn’t it?
Now, let us do a little comparison here, Palazzo pants are also loose, large, flowing and comfy outfits that came to existence in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

I discovered the pants about four years ago or thereabouts. I am a very skinny girl so I used to get lots of insults about being too thin or slim anytime I wear skinny jeans and all. This made me loose a little bit of confidence and then I began to look for outfits that will make me look bigger, I found out about the palazzo pants and sought solace in it. Initially, some people felt it was ridiculous being all big, loose and large, even my mom felt I looked funny wearing it, but nonetheless, I loved it and fell in love with it. Well well, I didn’t totally dump “skinny jeans”, like NO! I wouldn’t do it for anything or anyone but I got more of my palazzo pants and discovered various breath-taking ways to rock them which I would show you in this article.

So many people pop the question “is palazzo a formal wear”? My honest answer would be No. However, they could pass as formal wear mainly because they can be worn for all occasions, provided you style it with the different outfit as per the occasions. From street styles, work wear, casual outfits, formal and even chic, palazzo pants could be styled gracefully for all occasions.

You can style your palazzo in various ways, with any outfit, in actual fact, in every way possible.

Personally, I wear mine based on my mood for the day. At times, I rock it with a formal shirt, I could wear an oversized denim jacket with it, and most time, a round neck shirt or a crop or tank top. Although, I recently wore the Indian kameez(a traditional outfit originating from the Indian subcontinent, kinda like a long shirt which is the national dress of Pakistan) with my palazzo.

Palazzos have become a part of the street style fashion. They are extremely trendy and comfy and have become very popular these days. They have come to stay and to slay!
Let’s get to the real definition of Palazzo. They are women’s long trousers, cut with a loose, extremely wide leg that flares out from the waist. Even though it has been in existence since the late 60s, it went out of fashion in the start of the 21st century and is a big trend in the fashion world right about now. They are comfortable with a perfect fit for everyone’s shape. As a fashionable lady, you have to create a new chic outfit with the wide leg trousers or palazzo pants. It should be styled in a way to accentuate your figure and bring out your inner beauty.

There are hundreds of awesome ideas to style these pants with your everyday essentials and without having to break the bank. They are ideal investments that can get you from the office to rooftop parties. I’m into them a whole lot and I wear them constantly.

  • They are similar to pajamas, and can be worn with a simple tank top to look really comfy, basically for an evening event,
  • Style your palazzo pants with an extra-large shirt. Trust me, this is one of the best styling ever, and it is what I do almost all the time. It can be tucked in, or otherwise, depending on your mood for the day, or the kind of outing you have.
  • Wear a bold graphic tee with your palazzo to give you a daring look, and for a fun outfit.
  • Rock a crop top with a pair of high-waist palazzo pants to accentuate your shape in order to cover up for the wideness of your pants.
  • Go classic with your palazzo pants by rocking it with your colorful vintage or retro shirt, and an afro hairdo, to give you the 70s vibe.
  • A denim jacket never goes wrong with palazzos. In actual fact, it is one of my easiest styling, and one of my favorites.
  • For your vacation look, wear a light palazzo pants as a cover up that works for the beach too.
  • Style your bold-colored palazzo with a striped shirt for a really cute look. Do not forget your accessories!
  • Go chic with your tiny belt.
  • Go professional with your heels, and a blazer. You’re good to go!
  • For a less stressful and simple look, pair your palazzo pants with a white shirt.

Do you own palazzo pants? How do you wear them? Which of the above style is your favorite? What style tip would you love to see?

Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak. There is an undaunted idea and psychology behind our fashion choices. You need not be the regular “slayer”, a stylist, or a fashion week regular to be aware of how important your dress sense is to your reputation in the 21st century. Even an old age adage says, “dress the way you want to be addressed”. The clothes we wear send powerful signals to our peers and even strangers, showing or revealing the picture of us that we want to display.

Your personal style has a huge influence on your psychological processes. In other words, what you wear can influence the way you think, act and even talk. Against the gender stereotype of females being more fashion aware and conscious of others’ clothes and makeup efforts than males, studies have also lifted then lid on men’s insecurities with regards to clothes. Whether you are male or female, your fashion choices can affect both your self image, the impression that you convey to others, and in turn, the way in which people behave towards you.

In many societies, dress sense embodies personal wealth and taste. Style makes the world go round. The world needs innovation.

Know that you need to be able to develop your own unique style, you can start infusing elegance so that the total combination of both transforms the way you dress, the way you talk, behave, simply put, your inner and outer expressions start to match. The more adventurous someone is with their personal style, the more open and fun they are as people. Those of us who wear “crazy” clothes are announcing to the world that we do not feel the need to conform to perceived social norms. We have a playful personality, and we are not going to keep it locked up inside a three-piece suit. Instead we are going to revolt against uniforms, fashion standards and bland coloured shoes. The clothes you wear reflect your personality, be it quirky, disciplined or sophisticated.

Your wardrobe choices can depict who you are as a person, says experts. Do you prefer bright colours? Perhaps it is to do with your positive thoughts. Or if you have an eye for abstract prints, it is likely you have a bold personality, if you move away from the classic grey and blacks and wear the hot colours of today, you are definitely a trendsetter and a change maker. If you are a huge fan of vintage, just like I am, then you love to experiment. The bright colour radiates positive energy, making you feel comfortable. Such shades are a symbol of your dynamic personality. Wear such colours with a raw pair of jeans or chinos to grab all the attention that you want. Your sophisticated style can sometimes come across as serious, but you never let those opinions get in the way of your creativity.

If you play unscripted with the prints, then you are nothing but bold. The prints are unique and classy, and so are you. You are seen as someone that knows it all and will express your individuality by using your creative mind to inspire and create new ideas.

It is no news that the way you look on the outside sends subtle cues about what you are like on the inside.

Dressing flamboyantly is a great way to get noticed, but it is also a great way to start a conversation. Clothes can give you confidence, or they can also take that confidence away. Your dressing makes statement, when you walk into a place, the first thing people notice is your outfit, shoes inclusive. For a better communication, with more interesting people who are on your level, do yourself a favour and spice up your wardrobe. Life isn’t perfect but your outfit can be!

Hey lovelies. How are you all doing?

In today’s episode, we will be keeping it brief. What’s the gist? We are gonna be discussing the combination of Ankara Chokers and Corporate Outfits.

So far, one of the fashion trends that reached its peak in 2016 and will definitely continue this year is the choker trend. It’s getting bigger and creative every day we wonder what will be the next trending choker style each month. From lace to denim chokers, we have spotted various type of choker trends on fashionistas around the world and still waiting to try some new ones this year.

In recent years, chokers have been popular with a number of celebrities: Rihanna has been featured wearing chokers, Kendall Jenner, an American fashion model also wears chokers of many mixed materials.

Chokers can be made of a variety of materials, including the denim, traditional materials or attires, velvet, plastic, beads, leather, metal, such as silver, gold or platinum, etc. They can be adorned in a variety of ways, including with sequins, studs, or a pendant.

Wearing a choker has nothing to do with a girl’s sexual orientation, favourite twist, or occupation. A girl chooses to wear one, it means they like the style, or perhaps received it as a gift and want to please the “gifter” by wearing it.

Chokers are the latest big thing across the world. They have different gorgeous designs and are close-fitting necklaces worn around the neck, basically to complement your dressing. Once upon a time when people believed chokers are only good for off-shoulders, but no!! Guess what? This days, you can rock a choker on virtually every outfit, except you’re wearing a turtle-neck tho! It’s a trend that wouldn’t go off so easily, now let me burst your bubbles. Did you know chokers have been in existence since the first century AD?

Chokers are one of the things you can make with the ever versatile Ankara fabrics. Now for the benefits of those that has no idea about what the Ankara fabric looks like, here is a quick one; Ankara commonly known as “Ankara prints”, “African prints”, “African wax prints”, is a 100% cotton fabric with vibrant patterns. It is usually a colourful cloth and is primarily associated with Africa because of its tribal-like patterns and motifs. It is also a very versatile fabric and many items can be made from it such as hats, earrings, blazers, and shoes to name a few.

Ankara fabric chokers are becoming extremely popular these days. As we know, it’s hard to name an item you can’t make with the Ankara fabric. They express creativity and display handmade and vintage.

Rocking an Ankara choker depicts style and class. Now talking about rocking it with corporate attires, it is basically the most stylish thingy ever. Rocking both is something I tried lately and found out to be awesome. However, in as much as you try to be as cool as ever with these outfits, you should also try to avoid mixing colors unnecessarily.

Start with a white shirt, a black palazzo or pants and a print choker. Thank me later! Trust me, it’s amazingly FAB! Gradually, you would start to develop the penchant to combine other be-you-ti-ful colors.
